A Timely Reminder

Snake Awareness

On Saturday 21st February,  we saw a tiger snake swimming in the Kananook Creek, just north of Beach Street. It disappeared into the reeds on the east bank.

Snakes will also be in dunes, wetlands and other neighbouring areas, so please be aware of their potential presence.

It serves as a timely reminder that we are very much in peak snake season and that the area we live in is part of their natural habitat. We need to exercise care not only in the creek reserve,  but also in our own backyard. It also probably doesn’t hurt to make sure that any pets are suitably looked after.
